Oh, SHOW. You've been my not-so guilty pleasure for 5 years, and tonight you delivered an epic end. I watched it as a series finale, even though it's just a season, and I don't know how to feel, but it was fitting, and it was good, and ow, my aching heart.
How did I manage to get through the rest of the week and not mention the fabulous time that [livejournal.com profile] undinesprite and I had while she was here? I don't even know! The Thai food was disappointing, considering how good it usually is, but the conversations on Monday and Wednesday were wonderful, and I was so happy to get the chance to hang out with her again!

I am running low on patience and spoons. Michelle's family is going through something rough right now, and that's eating up a lot of worry. The world at large is a puzzling, hurtful place, and I'm so fucking sick of TALKING about it, and feeling utterly powerless and overwhelmed. It's not that I don't have the intellectual capacity for social debate, it's that I lack the emotional distance, or barring that, the emotional STAMINA.

I think I finally understand what the HELL my main character is doing, and can proceed accordingly. Well, I understand what ONE of them is doing. The other two are easier to follow along with, since they don't feel the compulsive need to lie when the truth would fit better. I got to share writing I'm proud of with my best friend, which I haven't done in... lots of years, anyway. So that was cool.

Supernatural continues to try and break my fucking heart every week. Glee continues to be a shiny ball of crack, now available in office-ready travel packs! (We had an office Glee and Pizza party on Wednesday. It was the Power of Madonna, people! It compelled us!) Psych is easily the most ridiculous show I've ever seen, and I love every stupid second of it. Only two and a half more seasons before we're caught up! Waaaah!

That's about it. Oh wait, I got a promotion! And a raise! Yay!
Oh look, it's "poke fun (HAHAHAHA) at fandom" night on Supernatural!

Yay! (Cut for light spoilers.) )
I would just like to note: Hi, I'm Reesa, and I have a CONNECTION with Dean.

BRB, dying of laughter.
Dear Supernatural Fandom,

Per my pending restraining order (after I Internet Sue you, of course), please remain at least 150 yards from me at ALL TIMES.

I am loading my shotgun with rock salt right now, and it isn't for ghosts.

To put it in a way that certain members of the fandom can more easily understand? Applesauce robin noodleboy, with flanky hoodie crumbles. /BATSHIT INSANE

Love and epic man pain,
I don't know if this counts as spoilery or not, but tonight's episode of Supernatural may possibly be my favourite EVER.

And I have a whole new world of love for the song "Eye of the Tiger".
But What Are Your Thoughts on Yaoi? by [livejournal.com profile] with_a_kay

This is the comment I sent [livejournal.com profile] lambourngb after she sent me that link this morning.

*babbles incoherently* I...it's just so random! So beautifully, wonderfully, random! And so...the voices! And the FRUIT BASKET!

An excerpt:

Sam likes Dr. Brennan, he really does. But she's, well.

She starts conversations with: "Booth thinks you're sexually interested in your brother, and I agree with him."

Sam spits his coffee out all over the table.

And pretty much, that feeling carries through the whole story. It's absurd, and random, and wonderfully funny. There's no explanation for why they know each other, though the impression is that they had a case that crossed, and oh, poor Booth.

*draws hearts all around this story*

I love Thursdays. I think they might be my favourite day.

Dean looks embarrassed by my spastic joy.
an_sceal: (My fandom)

Item 1- I LOVE the new Panic at the Disco album. Love it. I can't believe it. I didn't HATE their last album, but hell, I'll be honest, I found it a bit juvenile and uninspiring, lyrically and musically. Pretty Odd, by comparison, blows me away. I cannot stop listening to "Folkin' Around". Seriously- If love is not enough to put my enemies to sleep, then I'm putting out the lantern, find your own way back home How can you not love that? How can you not love a fucking two-minute BLUEGRASS FOLK SONG in the middle of a rock album? Northern Downpour makes me happy that I have the luxury of feeling thoughtful without being depressed.

Item 2- Pete and Ashlee. How could you not be happy for two people who are obviously so happy with each other? So short! So in love! So amusing! Does anyone really give a shit if she is pregnant? Couldn't they just be getting married because they, you know, LOVE EACH OTHER? Wacky, I know.

Item 3- My sister, MY SISTER, my country-music-listening, hardcore-growl-rock-loving sister, is the second person to ask me about "that chick who sings for My Chemical Romance". I referred her to [livejournal.com profile] kissingchaos9, a font of wisdom. "Please. He's over 30. Gerard is a lady." (I believe I have quoted this before. I don't care, it's still funny.)

Harry Potter:

HP fandom, much like my family, seems much saner if I stand far, far away. I hear there is some good stuff going on in there. Also, all your authors seem to be like, publishing books and stuff. Go you.

Yeah. Um. Any of you want a Valium? Some nice Merlot? In the immortal words of Lloyd Dobler, YOU MUST CHILL. YOU MUST.

Good luck with that whole Big Bang thing, see you soon. Love and kisses, and all that.

Oh, SPN, new home of million-part WIP epics with no plot. Where is my new canon, bitches?
-New Supernatural tomorrow night!  PA!Dean!  Ahem.
-I am feeling almost not-sore enough to spin.  I miss Rodney and Elizabeth v. v. much right now.  *siiiigh*
-I am going to rig up the Elizabeth on double-drive.  I haven't tried it yet, but I'm feeling fearless ever since I put the lace flyer on Rodney for the first time and couldn't believe how easy it was to spin laceweight.
-I am in my Tinkerbell pj pants, and I'm not planning to leave them ALL DAY.  Now that I -can- get dressed again, it's back to being a luxury when I don't.
-I had the BEST idea for a story I've been working on this week while I was in the shower this morning, and then I managed to remember it after I got out and WRITE IT IN MY STORY NOTES.  Because I RULE.
-I made some beautiful stitch markers last night.  And then a braided wire bracelet with some crazy random beading.  Very possibly I was suffering creative overload because I haven't been spinning.
-I'm zipping along on Wicked!  Hooray for my first sweater!

It's a good day.  Now excuse me while I go take a bunch of Aleve and sneak up to the studio to pet my wheels.

Firefly/Supernatural crossover
slash, Dean/Mal

When I first heard the words "Firefly/Supernatural crossover", I was not filled with a great sense of glee.  I just didn't think it could be done that well.

Hooray for being wrong!  This story rocks!  I wish I had written this story.  I wish there was a whole RAFT of these stories.  I wish it wasn't over now.  I wish it hadn't left me feeling so bad for Dean, and bad for Mal, and bad for them both together, even while I was happy.  It's a terrible twist of emotion.  Zoe is also quite bitchin, as are Kaylee, River, Jayne, and Simon.

Go and give this author love!
Title- Cavalier
Fandom- Supernatural
Spoilers- Season 2
Rating- R-ish Some cursing. If non-graphic Wincest (I can hear you spluttering, Tom) isn't your thing, move on by.
Summary- There's nothing funny about waking up naked in the back seat of a rusted out Cavalier.
Notes- Inspired by a prompt in [livejournal.com profile] algernon_mouse's journal. I never write in second person. I loathe second person. And yet- I like this. Also, the truly awful metaphors are there on purpose, and I know just how bad they are.
Feedback- I lurves it.

Five Times Dean Winchester Tries To Leave by [livejournal.com profile] kellifer_fic

Dean has a sandwich, a juice box and one of his Father’s knives in his tiny suitcase when he leaves.

He gets to the end of the property and that’s where his plans fall down.He isn’t allowed to cross the street by himself. He circles the block a few times, frustration growing. It would’ve been so much easier to leave if he’d just done it at their last house.

Read this for the portraits of Dean as he grows up, and the ways he's always tried to balance the tug of war between his father and Sam.

You have so utterly FAILED me as a friendslist.

Why did NOBODY tell me, why did nobody MENTION that there was an exclusive Supernatural bonus disc available when they were purchased through Best Buy? Even wikipedia knew!
You should all hope that there are still some at my local store, or I shall pout mightily.
